Hi, I’m Dragos

The “problem” with who I am professionally is that it feels fake. It reads overused and tastes cliche (English is not my first language and I feel “too” comfortable to use it weirdly).

“I’m an entrepreneur”

There are so many people today that call themselves entrepreneurs that I feel it is more of an empty professional badge.

  • I am however working for myself (and I’ve done so since 15th September 2005),
  • I have no real boss (but I’ve been managed and, in some way, my clients dictate a bit my daily agenda)
  • I earn 100% of the money me and my family needs – and that is my problem

A “real” entrepreneur should be able to earn a part of his income from products or services that don’t involve his/ her time. I am working my way towards that goal.

“I’m a brand strategist”

I own a strategy agency so basically, this is my core skill. I am not the type of business strategist with a cool pedigree. I did not work in any of the “big four”. I am a self-made and self-taught pragmatic strategist that trained himself with the type of street smart attitude that a poor guy has to employ in order to succeed. Yes, financially so far I did not do well, but, thank God, I had my part of needed experiences. I am richer than some other people and poorer than most strategists or agency owners.

“I’m a practical innovator”

It definitely goes hand in hand with both other hats that I’ve already mentioned, but I have to admit that I’m pretty good at inventing things creatively and pragmatically. I have minimized this skill because of some impostor syndrome for some time, but after the 2019 – 2022 (and going on) Pandemic I understood that if I would’ve had the courage to follow through with my ideas I would have been in a much better place now – financially, emotionally and strategically (I’m my worst strategist). The battle between a never-ending survival need (that makes you sometimes sell your soul for the sake of family and mundane expenses) and things you OUGHT to be doing professionally is very hard for me to… mitigate.

Projects I’m proud of

Wisenist.com

It’s an app that I’ve been working on and off since 2017 when together with my friend, Dr. Russ. It is the first project dedicated to elders. The entire concept began while talking about the cognitive surplus that a senior is experiencing once retirement begins.

Wisenist is a pay-for-wisdom app that wants to become a viable option for senior retaired citizens to pass on thei expertize, experience and wisdom to the younge generation. Our grandparents have gained decades of experience that is about to disolve in the ether. Another aspect of the app is to let elders reconnect with people – we now KNOW that human connection is one of the most important ingredient in prelonguing life itself.
